Death of Higashifushimi Jigo


It is with deep regret that the January 1, 2014 , received at Koryu – Gendai the following communication from the death of Sosai Butoku- Kai Dai Nippon , Prince and Abbot Higashifushimi Jigo .

Koryu – Gendai , and members of Nippon Seibukan , Zen Nihon Sogo Budo Renmei and Zen Nippon Toyama-Ryu Iai -Do Kyokai express its sincere condolences to the family for their loss and current imperial families .

His Highness Higashifushimi Jigo , passed away on January 1, 2014 , having served as Governor of the Dai Nippon Butoku- Kai for more than six decades , having been former chief Abad Shorenin Temple.

His Highness was a brother of the Empress Dowager ( kotaigo ) Showa Emperor Hirohito of Japan .

The Funeral Celebration will take effect on Sunday January 5 at 18:00 am in the Temple and the sacred Shorenin funeral service will be held on Monday, January 6 at noon at the Shorenin temple.

His son, Higashifushimi , Jiko , principal abbot of the Temple Shorenin in relation to the current Emperor Akihito Higashifushimi preside over the funeral procession , will be the new Sosai Jiko Dai – Nippon Kai Butoku after the official decree was made ​​public by the Council Honbu , thus closing a chapter of history thus leaving open a new chapter to follow.
